Roslyn Theater Company Co-Founder, Jill Studley is the heart and soul of the school. Jill's "everyone's a star" philosophy ensures a happy, supportive learning environment. Jill graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she had the opportunity to work with many theater greats such as Marcel MarceauWendy Wasserstein and David Mamet. She also studied at Actors and Directors Lab. Jill performed in several musicals in Community Theater productions. Additionally, Jill taught acting and staged children's theater productions at the Sid Jacobson JCC and in the Roslyn School District.


Steve Belfer has been musical director of numerous projects at Roslyn Theater Company and elsewhere, including High School Musical, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie and West Side Story. He has accompanied many fine vocalists including Engelbert Humperdinck (5 performances in 2005), and he has performed internationally in Japan and the Netherlands. Locally, Steve has played at nearly 2,000 weddings and other functions in the NY metro area. Steve enjoys nurturing the talents of performers of all ages. He is currently the musical director at the Pierce Country Day School/Camp in Roslyn. Steve is also a composer/lyricist and plans to debut his original music in the near future.


Jackie Bakewell is a vocalist, actress, teacher and director based in Long Island, New York. She earned her B.S. in Vocal Performance with concentrations in opera and musical theatre at Hofstra University. Jackie currently works full-time as a teacher at Bach to Rock Port Washington specializing in voice, piano, violin, and early childhood education. When she is not in the classroom, Jackie is fronting Long Island-based coverband Spectrum as the lead singer, singing Soprano 1 and music directing Best of Long Island-nominated caroling quartet The Santa Babies, and performing in various other companies. Some on-stage credits include: Emma U/S (Jekyll & Hyde, Off-Broadway), Lead (The Triangle Fire, World Premiere), Rusalochkat / Olga cover (Rusalka, U.S. English Premiere). Notable directing credits include V-Day shows which each raised over $10,000 for charity, and “Songs For A New World” at Bach to Rock Port Washington. Actor/Singer/Director Brandy Hooper has a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of West Florida, a Masters of Arts in Voice specializing in Opera and Jazz from Long Island University Post, and is a certified K-12 Music Educator and Choral Director. She has formal training in Singing, Acting, Dance, Theatre studies, Piano, and Music Education. She is the co-founder and Director of the Santa Babies Christmas Caroling Quartet, is an agency-represented Actor, has directed plays, musicals, choirs, and has produced the short film, "Things We Hide". Her favorite roles include BusyBody in Grinchmas at Universal Studios, Emma Goldman in Assassins, Mary Magdalene in Godspell, and Jenny in Company. She has also worked on television sets such as Funny or Die, SweetBitter, In Bed with Simon, and has participated in many award-winning short films. Ms. Hooper is so excited to work with the talented students and faculty at Roslyn Theatre Company!

Actors Technique NY (ATNY) was established in 2003 as a way to help all actors in the progression of their careers. We work with New York’s most prestigious agents, managers and casting directors daily and boast the highest number of young actor TV/Film bookings and representation in New York City. Our focus is On-Camera Acting and Audition Technique and we’ve expanded to Musical Theatre and Adult Classes.
